Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Berkeley is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Berkeley is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Absolutely fabulous afternoon tea! Friendly service, a cute backyard, delicious food (sweet and savory) and fresh tea. I love the concept and will be back. An extra plus β we are GF and they accommodated!

Currently, afternoon tea is the primary offering at Nudi Blue. It includes a sweet course, a salad palate cleanser, a savory course, and two tea selections. You can purchase their impressive selection of teas and pastries Γ la carte, too. The first course was a delightful selection of five pastries. The majority were croissant dough-based, but in different shapes and portion sizes. The guava croissant burst with tropical flavor, and its laminated layers had a good bounce. Pink guava cream decorated the top and filled the pastry. I quite liked the Earl Grey NY Roll, which was a slice of croissant topped with earl grey cream. I do wish the candied tea leaves had a stronger flavor, but they looked lovely. My favorite item was the half-moon croissant. The whipped dill cream cheese held its piped shape well. Artful bits of onion flakes and caviar were sprinkled and dolloped on top. That lovely cucumber ribbon and the dill fronds added nice flavor to each bite. I love all those flavors together, but I should note that I may also have loved the half-moon most because it was the most sizable item. Both of the tartletsβpear and apple with lychee cream and a seasonal combination of citru

Tried the Afternoon Tea at Nudi Blue. Beautiful presentation served in a glass case, everything felt like a little piece of art. Great balance of sweet and savory. The blueberry peach scone was soft and fragrant and the tea sandwiches were light and well done. Desserts were refreshing and not too sweet. Loved the rose and peach teas very aromatic, smooth and delicate. Overall, a lovely afternoon tea experience. Perfect for relaxing or a cute photo moment.

Loved it! Had to try Nudi Blue during its opening weekend, as I love, love, love their sister restaurant, Tanzies. Unlike any other high tea in the Bay Area. Attention to detail in every way, from stoneware to tea selections, to architecture and taste of every sandwich and pastry. Beautiful live piano music serenaded throughout. As with Tanzies, I was made to feel like I was a guest in their house, the service was so warm and welcoming. Will be back soon...

Super interesting teas with the giant tea being my favorite. First course was phenomenal. We went for the full tea service the third day it opened, and you can tell itβs only going to get better. Ambiance was great with a live piano player and handmade ceramic tea cups per person.
